Heidi
grew up in Germany.
Beginning at the Highschool of Music in Aachen (D), she later
studied at the conservatoire in Winterthur (CH), finishing with a
teacher`s diploma and classical orchestra diploma. At the beginning
of her musical career, she performed in numerous classical
orchestras and chamber music formations and played concerts in
many European countries.
Her
first contacts with Celtic music in 1988, brought her back to her
own folk music roots from her childhood, when she used to play
various folk music styles with her brothers and her father (her
brother Joe Eisenburger is still a musical partner and plays as
special guest in her band).
Since then her favourite styles of music have become Irish-Celtic,
Cape Breton, Bluegrass and Scandinavian. With
arrangements and compositions for the band, and the development of
her voice, she has found her own sound in the world of Celtic
music.
Together
with Stef she played concerts around Europe as the duo “Heidi
and Stef” and with other Celtic folk music formations like:
“Stef`s Irish Folkband” and “Irish Connection”. Since 1998
she has been performing with her current Band the “Bow Triplets”.
Various
studio recordings, radio and TV performances document her intense
and rich musical life.
Apart
from playing herself she is a devoted violin teacher, working at
two teachers’ training colleges in Switzerland where she lives
together with her family.
